Building a High-Performance Premium eCommerce Platform for Minimal

Minimal, a small premium eCommerce brand, needed a storefront that matched the quality of its products. The existing site struggled with slow page loads, poor mobile performance and a checkout flow that frustrated customers. With mobile commerce driving the majority of traffic and Core Web Vitals now influencing search rankings, Minimal engaged Advantrix Labs to build a blazing-fast, mobile-first eCommerce platform focused on conversion, performance and a premium shopping experience.

Project Snapshot

Client profile

Minimal is a small premium eCommerce brand selling curated, high-quality products through its online store. Before engaging Advantrix Labs, the company operated on a legacy platform that did not reflect its premium brand positioning. Page loads were slow, the mobile experience was inconsistent, and the checkout process introduced unnecessary friction. While the brand had built a loyal audience, the technical limitations of the existing site were suppressing conversion rates and limiting growth -- particularly among mobile shoppers, who accounted for the majority of traffic.

Project goal

Design and launch a high-performance eCommerce platform that delivers the following.

  • Provides a premium, mobile-first shopping experience that reflects the brand's positioning and captures mobile revenue; mobile commerce now accounts for over 60 % of all eCommerce traffic, and 57 % of consumers will not recommend a business with a poorly designed mobile site
  • Achieves perfect Core Web Vitals scores through server-side rendering and static site generation, directly improving search rankings and user engagement; a one-second delay in page load can reduce conversions by up to 7 %
  • Implements dynamic product filtering and real-time cart state management to streamline the browsing and purchasing journey
  • Integrates third-party payment gateways with one-click checkout to minimize cart abandonment; the average eCommerce cart abandonment rate is roughly 70 %, and checkout complexity is a leading contributor
  • Supports OAuth authentication for passwordless onboarding, reducing registration friction for new customers

Business challenge

The brand faced several barriers to converting its premium audience into buyers at scale.

  • Slow, underperforming site: Page load times exceeded acceptable thresholds, driving high bounce rates. Research shows that 53 % of mobile visitors abandon a site that takes longer than three seconds to load. For a premium brand where first impressions matter, slow performance undermined credibility and cost sales
  • Poor mobile experience: The existing platform was not designed mobile-first. Navigation, product browsing and checkout were clunky on smaller screens, resulting in significantly lower mobile conversion rates despite mobile traffic representing the largest share of visitors
  • Checkout friction and cart abandonment: The checkout flow required multiple steps, manual form entry and account creation before purchase. Each additional step increased the likelihood of abandonment, and the brand had no saved payment methods, address autofill or one-click purchase capability
  • Limited product discovery: Without dynamic filtering or responsive search, customers had to browse through static category pages. For a curated product catalog, the inability to filter by attributes or see real-time availability created unnecessary friction
  • Weak SEO foundations: The legacy platform rendered content client-side, making it difficult for search engines to index product pages effectively. This limited organic traffic acquisition and increased dependence on paid channels
  • No real-time inventory visibility: Product availability was not reflected in real time on the storefront, occasionally leading to overselling during high-traffic events and eroding customer trust

Solution

Working closely with Minimal, Advantrix Labs designed and built a modern eCommerce platform engineered for speed, conversion and a premium user experience.

  • Component-based frontend architecture: The storefront uses a modular, component-based architecture that ensures visual consistency and enables rapid iteration. Reusable components for product cards, filtering panels, cart overlays and promotional sections create a cohesive, premium look and feel across every page
  • Blazing-fast mobile-first design: Every layout, interaction and asset was designed mobile-first and progressively enhanced for larger screens. Touch-friendly navigation, optimised image delivery, responsive product grids and carefully tuned typography ensure that the mobile experience is not a compromise but the primary design target
  • SSR and SSG for performance and SEO: Server-side rendering and static site generation ensure that product pages, category listings and landing pages load near-instantly and are fully indexable by search engines. This architecture is central to achieving the platform's 100/100 Core Web Vitals score and improving organic discoverability
  • Dynamic product filtering and search: Real-time, multi-faceted filtering allows customers to narrow the catalog by category, price, attributes and availability. Filters update results instantly without full page reloads, providing an app-like browsing experience that keeps shoppers engaged
  • Real-time cart state management: A persistent, real-time cart system tracks item additions, removals and quantity changes across the session. Cart state is preserved across navigation, providing a seamless experience whether the customer is browsing on mobile during a commute or completing a purchase on desktop later
  • Node.js backend for catalog and inventory: The backend manages the product catalog, real-time inventory and pricing. API endpoints serve live stock counts to the frontend, ensuring customers see accurate availability -- particularly important during high-traffic promotional events
  • One-click checkout with third-party payment integration: A streamlined checkout flow integrates with third-party payment gateways, supporting saved payment methods, address autofill and minimal form fields. The goal was to reduce the path from cart to confirmation to as few interactions as possible
  • Frictionless social login for passwordless onboarding: Customers can register and sign in using existing accounts, eliminating password creation and reducing the friction that often causes first-time visitors to abandon registration. Faster onboarding supports higher first-purchase conversion and enables personalisation from the first visit

Business outcomes

By delivering a performance-optimised, mobile-first eCommerce platform, Advantrix Labs helped Minimal transform its online presence from a bottleneck into a conversion engine that reflects its premium brand.

  • 38 % conversion rate increase: The combination of fast page loads, mobile-first design, streamlined checkout and dynamic product filtering produced a substantial uplift in conversion. Reducing friction across the entire shopping journey -- from discovery through purchase -- translated directly into higher revenue per visitor
  • 45 % mobile sales boost: Designing mobile-first rather than retrofitting a desktop experience resulted in a dramatic improvement in mobile conversion and revenue. With mobile commerce growing at 25 % year over year, this gain positions the brand to capture an expanding share of traffic
  • 100/100 Core Web Vitals: Server-side rendering, static generation, optimised asset delivery, and a modern architecture achieved a perfect performance score. Beyond the direct user-experience benefits, strong Core Web Vitals contribute to improved search rankings and lower bounce rates -- pages that load within two seconds have an average bounce rate of 9 %, compared with 38 % for pages loading in five seconds
  • Reduced cart abandonment: One-click checkout, saved payment methods, OAuth authentication and a distraction-free purchase flow decreased drop-off at the final stage. Simplifying checkout alone can improve conversion by up to 35 %
  • Stronger organic traffic: Server-side rendered, fully indexable product pages improved the platform's search-engine visibility, driving higher-quality organic traffic and reducing the brand's reliance on paid acquisition
  • Reliable high-traffic performance: Real-time inventory management and a performant backend ensured accurate product availability during promotional events, eliminating overselling incidents and maintaining customer trust during peak demand
